This event was cancelled a few weeks ago due to the terrible weather. Primary 3 will visit Cowan Park for this Active Schools Event on Friday 20th March.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to postpone the Spring Coffee Morning. We will reschedule this for some time next term. You will be kept informed of the date change by text.
Children can wear tartan to school on this day if parents wish them to do so, this might be a small tartan accessory such as a ribbon or an item of tartan clothing, please do not buy anything new just for this day. It is not a dress as you please day.
The school meals service have a special Burns Day menu. Soup of the day will be Scotch Broth. The normal weekly options will still be available but hot choice 1 (sausages) will be replaced by a haggis stack (haggis, mashed turnip and potatoes), dessert will be Scottish shortbread and raspberries.
We will have a whole school assembly on the 25th. The focus will be on songs and poems of Scotland. Each class will recite a poem or sing a song.
Primary 7 have been taking part in the BBC’s School Report event today. They created a range of news articles and video reports during the course of the day. Some Primary 7 reporters visited the site of the new ASDA store and their photograph has appeared on the BBC website. Scroll down the live news feed until you get to 15.41 to see the Carlibar image. Kristina Stephenson visited Carlibar as part of our special reading week this week. She entertained the children and adults alike with tales of Sir Charlie Stinky Socks. The Barrhead News sent a photographer along to the event.

Tickets for the Christmas show are available from the school office. Three tickets per family. Letters were sent home with more details.
Thursday 12th December – evening performance, children to be at school for 6.15pm
Friday 13th December – Afternoon performance doors open at 1.15pm for a 1.30pm start.
This year’s Halloween parties were a great success. The children all had a great time. The costumes were fantastic. Look out for the photographs in the Barrhead News.
Sports day is on Friday 7th June in the morning – Infants will start around 9.15 until interval. Upper classes will start at 11am until lunchtime. Please remember to send your child to school with a bottle of water with their name on it (MOST CHILDREN HAVE THESE IN SCHOOL) sunhat and suncream.
Many thanks to all of the children who turned up on Saturday 1st June to be on our float and to all of our staff members who helped decorate the float. Our Eco themed float was awarded a runner up trophy that will be put into our display case outside the main office. Pictures to be posted soon.
