STEM FAIR AT BARRHEAD HIGH – PRIMARY 6 and 7pupils and parents invited

The P6 – S3 STEM Fair will take place next Thursday, 12th March from 6pm until 8.30pm at Barrhead High. All P6-S3 students will receive a presentation on the upcoming STEM Fair and are encouraged to attend and find out more about STEM careers and learning.

Please note: Students must be accompanied by an adult



We have organised for a wide range of STEM companies and professionals to attend the school inlcuding Rolls Royce, NHS, Institute of Civil Engineering and local universities. Students will be able to quiz the engineers and scientists on what their jobs entail, and get involved with the experiments/equipment they bring along.

You can sign up for sessions that you are interested in when you arrive on the night.

Barrhead High School

Primary 7 Transitions

Primary 7 will be visiting Barrhead High on Friday 6th May.  they will be there for the whole day to take part in a range of activities in maths, global citizenship and science.  Children must report to Barrhead High at 8.40am.  they will be dismissed at 2.40pm but will return to Carlibar for a normal dismissal at 3pm.

Primary 7 pupils have brought home a letter with more details.

Primary 7 Taster day at Barrhead High School

All primary 7 children should make their own way to Barrhead High School in the morning.  They should be in the lecture theatre no later than 8.40am.  Mrs Fleming will be at Barrhead High from 8.30am to check that all children arrive.  Members of staff and senior pupils from barrhead High will also be there to direct children arriving.

Children need their PE kit and also a packed Lunch or money to buy lunch from the canteen.  No children will be allowed out of school at lunchtime.

  A letter will be in the school bags with more details on Tuesday 28th October.

Primary 7 parents – Information Sessions at Barrhead High June 2014

The Support for Learning Team at Barrhead High School would like to invite you to our ‘Coffee and Cake’ night on Tuesday 10th June in the Support for Learning base at Barrhead High.  Parents are invited to come along between 5.30pm and 6.30pm for the chance to meet the team that will be supporting your son/daughter in the high school.You will have the opportunity to hear about the different systems that are put in place to support pupils, ask any questions you may have – and enjoy come cakes!

An Introduction Session will be held as Barrhead High for all Primary 7 parents on Monday 16th June from 7 -8pm.  Further information about this meeting will be sent out to parents by Miss Potter.

 The Taster Days for Primary 7 children are on the 17th and 18th June 2014.

Information meeting for Primary 6 and 7 pupils and their parents/carers.

Barrhead High are having a showcase event on Monday 25th November from 7pm to 8pm.  They would like to invite all Primary 6 and Primary 7 children and their parents along to this event.  You will be able to

  • visit classrooms and see a short lesson
  • meet staff and learn about new teaching methods
  • find out more about the plans for the new Barrhead High building
  • enjoy an exhibition of artwork produced by pupils
  • meet representatives of the Parent Council
  • chat to some of the current and former pupils.

This is a great opportunity to find out more about Barrhead High. If you are able to come along please return the yellow slip from the bottom of the invite to school asap.  Please write the number of people that will be coming along.

Primary 7 transition to Barrhead High

Primary 7 children will be going to Barrhead High on Thursday 1st November for an 8.45am start.  Mrs Fleming, Mrs MacKay and Mrs Sweeney will wait inside the main gates to the school building for them.  This is the first of our transiton days.  Primary 7 pupils will have a letter with further information in their bags on Monday 22nd October.  Please return the consent form that will be with the letter.  This will cover all transition visits for your P7 child.
