Pupil Council Foodbank Collection
Braidbar Pupil Council would like to ask for your help in supporting those in need this Christmas. We are organizing a collection for the local Foodbank and would encourage anyone in a position to do so to support this worthwhile cause. Donations can be brought into school between Monday 3rd December and Friday 7th December. Please see a list below of items that would be gratefully received.
The Foodbank currently has a large stock of soup, beans and pasta so any of the above items would be a great support in feeding families during the festive period.
Thank you in advance,
Braidbar Pupil Council
P.5 Enterprise Project – Note from P.5
Primary 5 are studying Enterprise in Social Studies and are learning about running a business. We have carried out market research to investigate the best product for sale to maximise profits.
Our research has revealed that sweets are the most popular product. As a result, we will be producing Sweetie Cones. All sweets are gelatine free and suitable for a vegetarian diet.
We have taken out a business loan from Mrs Friel and have to repay this in full. Profits made in this venture will be donated to charity.
Sweetie Cones will be available for sale from Monday 10th December for £1. We hope you will support our project.
We enjoyed visiting Primary 1 to read with our Buddy today as part of the school celebrations for Scottish Book Week.
Saman- It was really good, my Buddy could tell me if they enjoyed the ending and why.
Uzair- It was good fun to encourage P1 to read.
Rydha- It was a nice way to spend time with my Buddy.
Literacy
Authors- Read to end of chapter 6
Illustrators – Read to the end of chapter 4
Publishers – Read to the end of Chapter 7
Your Literacy homework is to write a 100 word summary of the chapters that you have read this week. Think about the main characters, the setting, the sequence of events and any feelings. Remember you will need to plan this carefully to ensure that you have included enough detail but it is not too short either!
You have also to fill in the First Ministers Reading Challenge booklet about what you are reading about at the moment (Pg.7) and set yourself a challenge on Pg.4.
Maths
Please complete the online homework activity on Sumdog.
Also this is East Renfrewshire Sumdog competition week. You need to play for an hour or so during the whole week period to get a competitive score. We are aiming to have a high ranking in the competition!
Road Safety Week
Road Safety Week is this week. The theme this year is Bike Smart. Bike Smart aims to raise awareness about the importance of being safe while cycling, the dangers cyclists face on the roads, and what children want so they can cycle safely in their communities. The JRSOs will share more information about this and a competition they would like to lead at assembly.
Book Week Scotland
Braidbar are also celebrating book week this week. P.7 will be visiting P.1 to read and share some stories to them on Friday from the p.1 Book bug Bags.
