Dancing our socks off!

This week we took part in a whole-school dance-a-thon to raise funds for the school. We turned the classroom into a dance floor but we got sooooooo out of breath as we moved non-stop for 30 minutes! Phew!

Waitrose Bound!

To develop our knowledge further on local produce and sustainability – Mrs Andrews organised a trip for us to Waitrose in the Newton Mearns. We were all so excited to go onto the bus and couldn’t wait to get there!

First we went to the fresh produce aisle and tasted kiwi berries which were very sour! Only some of us liked them but we all had a go.

Have you heard of a kiwi berry? We hadn't!

Some of the meat came from Ayrshire. Very local!

We looked at the ‘traffic light’ system as a way of checking the nutritional value of the foods we eat. The Butternut Squash Curry had all green!

Bet our Mac 'n' Cheese was better than this one!

Street View

Street View
                  Bird’s Eye-View

After finding out about different types of land use; we searched ‘Google Maps’ during our ICT time to find residential buildings, including our own homes!

Uzair –

“Street view was so cool – I could see my front door!”

As part of our Local Area IDL this term we have been looking at the characteristics of the land in Giffnock.
We completed a modern map showing the 4 different types of land use: Residential, Recreational, Commercial and Local Authority.

Pupil Voice

We all have something to say...
We all have something to say… and have the right to be heard.

Primary 4b think it is very important for everyone’s voice to be heard.

We have been learning more about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and Article 15 states that ‘all children should have the right to meet other children and join groups’.

Therefore, congratulations goes to Aidan, Katherine and Kieran who were voted Class Representatives for our Pupil Council, ECO and Health and Wellbeing Committees respectively. Well done! 🙂

16-piece Jigsaw (7+)

We all fit together...
           We all fit together…

As part of developing our class friendships, team spirit and valuing the importance of being unique we have drawn a portrait of a partner inside a jigsaw piece.

The pieces all fit together perfectly and are now proudly displayed on our wall.

Alice – ” I like how Isher did my eyes.”

Isher – ” I like my hair.”

Saman – ” Rydha drew me! It is so cool!”

Rydha – ” Thank you Saman for drawing me.”
