Your Literacy homework is to write a 100 word summary of the chapters that you have read this week.  Think about the main characters, the setting, the sequence of events and any feelings.  Remember you will need to plan this carefully to ensure that you have included enough detail but it is not too short either!

Also this is East Renfrewshire Sumdog competition week.  You need to play for an hour or so during the whole week period to get a competitive score.  We are aiming to have a high ranking in the competition!

Road Safety Week

Road Safety Week is this week.  The theme this year is Bike Smart.  Bike Smart aims to raise awareness about the importance of being safe while cycling, the dangers cyclists face on the roads, and what children want so they can cycle safely in their communities.  The JRSOs will share more information about this and a competition they would like to lead at assembly.

Walk to School Week

This week our JRSOs are encouraging pupils to walk, park and stride, scoot or cycle to school in a bid to cut down on traffic at the school gates, increase pupil fitness and win points for our class! Each pupil has been issued with a neon wristband to help them be seen when walking.

Rag Bag

Our Eco committee has issued every child with a bag which they should return to school with any unwanted, clean clothing and textiles. Pupils are encouraged to fill their bag and return it to the school this week. Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraising initiative.

I am pleased to welcome pupils back after October break.  It was a very busy first term for us and we have an exciting week ahead as we begin our second term.
