In nursery we find lots of meaningful opportunities to share our thoughts and ideas in different ways. The children enjoy experimenting by making marks with a range of tools.
One of our favourite things to do is experiment with slime. We enjoy talking about the different ingredients and exploring and describing the properties of each new batch we make.
Sharing stories and rhymes doesn’t only foster early literacy and language. Stories can be used as a context for developing skills in other curricular areas such as expressive arts, health and wellbeing and numeracy and mathematics.
The woodwork bench allows us to develop our imagination and ideas; manage risks; develop vocabulary and fine motor skills; join different materials in interesting ways… and many more skills.
Recently children have made a car, a family member and a vending machine!
