\"\"<\/a>Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is offering parents and carers an online opportunity to find out more about how they can help their child\u00a0make their S2\/3 subject choices for the Senior Phase.\u00a0Scotland\u2019s national skills agency has organised\u00a0the\u00a0virtual session\u00a0on\u00a0Thursday 25 February\u00a0<\/strong>which will also give parents and carers information\u00a0about accessing\u00a0a wide range of\u00a0SDS support.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Careers\u00a0advisers\u00a0Joan Duncan and Gemma Smith\u00a0will be providing expert advice for\u00a0parents and carers of\u00a0young people in\u00a0S2 and S3.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Joan\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThinking about what options to choose at school can be\u00a0daunting for young people and their parents and carers.\u00a0As well as this session, SDS\u00a0also has a\u00a0<\/span>Subject\u202fChoices\u202ftool<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u202fon SDS\u2019s My World of Work website<\/a>\u00a0which helps\u00a0pupils explore\u00a0where options choices can take them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cIt gives young people and their parents and carers the opportunity to explore job profiles, industries,\u00a0Foundation and Modern Apprenticeships, refine their search by what someone is most interested\u00a0in and use the tool as many times as they like to find out more about different options.\u00a0There are other tools to try and the more tools you try, the better career suggestions we can give.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
