\"\"<\/a>Normally at this time of year students entering S3 would receive a presentation on undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh (DOFE) Bronze Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If any (new) S3 students are interested in undertaking the DOFE Bronze Award over the next year, then please watch the following videos to get an idea of what is involved.<\/p>\n

If you decide that DOFE is for you, then you can get started over the summer holidays<\/em>.\u00a0 You need to undertake some physical activity, learn a new skill, and complete some volunteering – each for an hour per week.<\/p>\n

I would urge students who start any of these DOFE sections over the summer to complete a weekly record (on paper or on their phone).<\/strong>\u00a0 Students would need to have a note of the date of their activity, the section they were undertaking, the time spent completing the activity, and a short description of what was achieved.\u00a0 Students are also required to take periodic photographs of their involvement in each section (a minimum of 4 photographs is required per section).<\/p>\n

Eventually, after the holiday, students will require to register for DOFE officially, pay a registration fee (\u00a322 approximately), and then upload all evidence onto the DOFE system.<\/p>\n

Please note: there are no requirements for students to start any of the three DOFE sections over the summer. Given current restrictions, students may find themselves with a little more time and feel this can be best used getting ahead with their DOFE Award.<\/p>\n

Final point: DOFE Scotland has recently changed some of there rules to make completing DOFE that little bit easier.<\/p>\n

They have issued the following advice about completing a DOFE Award during the coronavirus outbreak<\/a> and continuing with DOFE<\/a>.<\/p>\n
