Barrhead High celebrated the bards birthday in fine fashion with a senior students Burns Supper at lunchtime on Monday the 25<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> of January. The supper was hosted in the school canteen which was decorated for the event with the seniors wearing tartan to mark the occasion. The atmosphere was set by the school pipers led by\u00a0Ms Walker who played the senior students into the canteen as the wind and rain buffeted the quadrangle. The seniors were treated to music played by S6 students: Robbie, Varun and Fraser before Mr Gillespie addressed the Haggis, piped in to the hall by Eilidh Grant in dramatic fashion! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The school canteen served traditional Burns\u2019 fair and the students were joined by more than twenty staff who were guests for the occasion. All who attended thought that the food and entertainment were first rate. The traditional toast to the lassies and the more modern reply for the lassies were delivered by Euan and Olivia who made us all think and laugh. All in all it was a terrific event that showed the strength of our school community and once again demonstrated the depth and range of talent within the school. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am quite certain that Burns himself would have approved!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
