Leigh Daynes, the director of Doctors of the World<\/span>, has said that the study by researchers from the University of Birmingham \u201c… exposes the awful truth about the Calais refugee crisis \u2013 that it is a humanitarian emergency of the first order in one of the world\u2019s most thriving nations.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L<\/span><\/span>ike other schools in East Renfrewshire, our young folk have contributed to East Renfrewshire’s efforts to provide relief and support coordinated by Councillor Waters and to be convoyed to Calais.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Councillor Waters <\/span>has asked us to pass on the following:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The East Renfrewshire Convoy to Calais leaves this Thursday at 8pm from the car park of ER Council HQ in Eastwood Park, Giffnock. They are taking the largest single donation from anywhere in Scotland.\u00a0 Schools and nurseries from all over East Renfrewshire responded with overwhelming generosity<\/span> to the appeal.\u00a0 All parents, children<\/span> and staff are invited to be there for the send-off. The convoy organisers want to give the families who contributed the opportunity to see their donations leave, and to send the convoy off in style. <\/span><\/span><\/strong>We hope you can join us.\u201d<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
