This week our 1st year students are taking\u00a0 part in a\u00a0Institute of Civil Engineering project called Rapid Response<\/a>.\u00a0 Students were given a Motivation Talk on Friday of last week, which\u00a0got students thinking about the effect of a hurricane in Honduras.<\/p>\n

S1 classes this week are\u00a0all based around the aftermath of a hurricane.\u00a0 Students are taught about the difficulties people face after a hurricane and how engineers can help with fixing roads, water supplies and communications.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, 30th May students will complete the Rapid Response project with a Challenge Day. \u00a0Students will compete in teams\u00a0building\u00a0temporary shelters, purifying water and cycling.<\/p>\n
