About Us

Physical Education Overview

In Physical Education pupils are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability in many different sports. In S1 & S2, pupils follow a core programme involving 13 different activities. In S3 & S4, pupils have the choice to continue with core PE or do National 4 / 5 courses.

In S5, all pupils receive two core periods of PE and they, along with S6, can choose to do PE at National 5 or Higher level. Senior pupils can also elect to do a  Sports Development course.

The PE department consists of a large games hall, a small gym, a fitness room and 2 floodlit astroturf pitch. We also have a 4 lane athletics track.

Classes often go into Cowan Park for cycling, cross-country and football. Activities that are taught in the department include: athletics; badminton; basketball; cross country; cycling; fitness; football; gymnastics; netball; ; social dance; summer games and trampolining.

Pupils are expected to bring a change of kit for every lesson. Those unfit to participate fully should bring a note from their parent / guardian.

They should also bring their kit and get changed along with the rest of the class.
