Drama Department Overview

Drama at Barrhead High school is taught weekly to all pupils in S1 and S2.

Pupils then have the option to study drama at National levels 4 or 5 in S3 & 4. Then once pupils reach S5 they can study at Higher level

In drama pupils are encouraged to express their ideas and opinions and use their imagination.

Pupils are given the opportunity to explore a variety of themes and issues through various practical drama activities. These include improvisation, role-play, mime and using script.

Team-work, communication and leadership skills are developed within the drama lessons and pupils are encouraged to evaluate their work and reflect on their achievements.

The study of Drama can have a huge impact on the life of a young person and can help them grow into a confident, successful and responsible individual.
