The children from the Aiken Drum room were exploring the snow. They were able to build a snowmam and measure how tall he was. Measuring was generated from another child who was interested in long and short legs. Other children used the snow to mark make and make prints. Mathematical language was being used and discussions of small/smallest, tall/tallest took place, as was specific shapes.
“That is a triangle, the gate has made a triangle shape in the snow.”
“The snowman is tallest.”
