Scotland. I can make a tartan pattern.

“I have tartan paper now.”

“I have a tartan dress like this in the house. We have tartan music on while we are making tartan, that’s silly.”

“It looks like squares.”

“It is stripes.”

“You can get tartan ribbon as well, I have one.”

We have continued to listen to our ‘Katie in Scotland’ story, listening to lovely bagpipe music and learning to Scottish dance. The boys and girls showed great interest in the tartan kilt that the bagpiper wore and some children could say the ‘pipers skirt’ was a kilt and their Dad and Grandpas wore one to a wedding. Some girls said they have lovely tartan dresses and ribbons.

We decided to decorate and design our own tartan patterns.  They have been busy experimenting through messy play using scissors and glue.
