Pretend Play. I can act out a story.

Some of the children in the blue group went on an adventure to look at ‘constellations’ as part of the work we have been doing on space and planets. We started off by deciding what we needed and how we would get there. Then we made our way to the gym hall whereby we were pretending to climb a mountain, crossing fast flowing rivers and swimming through swamps before we reached the top.  When we reached the top of the moon, we found what one of the boys recognised as a  ‘planetarium’ and inside there was a machine that told us about the sun and some of the constellations we had been learning about like Draco the dragon because our story dragon had just arrived and the little bear like the one in our other story.  When it was time to go back to the nursery we went back to the hall and climbed down part of the mountain before having a picnic like little bear in the story who had a picnic on the moon. Now we are going to make some more constellations of our own and see what stories we can make about those.
