The children were exploring the magnetic resource. They were interested in the ‘push’ and ‘pull’ force from it and were learning about how one side pushes away and one side pulls it together and sticks. By chance, the magnetic resource stuck to a child’s bracelet. The children were amazed by this discovery, which led to exploring what else the resource could and couldn’t stick to. Through the children’s investigations, they realised the magnets could stick to the drying rack and so started to create long lines. This led to discussing measurement and discussing which one was the tallest.

The children continued their investigations outdoors and used the chalk to draw around each other and explore, “who’s the tallest?”
