Literacy. I can find my own initial.

ENG 0-12a/LIT 0-13a/ LIT 0-21a

I explore sounds, letters and words, discovering how they work together, and I can use what I learn to help me as I read and write.

Some of the children were using the natural resources to create the initial letter of their name. The children were able to search the alphabet resource and find their letter and then create it themselves using the various materials. This led to discussing other words beginning with specific letters and singing the alphabet song. By being involved in the activity is helping the children to make progress in differentiating, identifying and reproducing letters.
