Making Smoothies

The children in the upstairs playrooms enjoyed picking blackberries from the garden to eat at snack time. They then decided to mix blackberries and milk together to make a great smoothie.

Did you know?

Juices and smoothies contain sugars and acids, so although they can count towards their 5 A DAY, limit your child to no more than one small glass (about 150ml) of fruit juice or smoothie each day and only at mealtimes.

We need to wash them.

Why not try it at home?

I have helped to grow plants and can name their basic parts. I can talk about how they grow and what I need to do to look after them.

I can collect fruit and vegetables from our garden.

I can name the leaves and the fruit.
