Some of the children were intrigued to discover what had happened with their experiment yesterday with the flowers and food colouring. The children noticed that some of the flowers had changed colour as a result of adding the food colouring. “Wow, mine has turned blue. I used blue food colouring.” “Mine is pink, I used red.”
The children were also experimenting with various colours and were trying out different techniques to create beautiful patterned pictures. The children watched as the colours merged together when creating marbling ink pictures and also when creating pictures with shaving foam and coloured paints. The effects of both techniques were quite amazing and both techniques will be used tomorrow as part of our celebration of Holi, which is the festival of colour.
All parent or carers are invited into the nursery on Wednesday, 23rd of March, to create colourful art with their child, as part of our Holi celebrations; 8.50 a.m. for morning session and 12.50 p.m. for afternoon session. All parent and carers can stay for as little or as long as they can manage. Any time given will be greatly received and I’m sure it will be a fun process to be involved in.
