Some of the children were showing an interest in money. They were exploring the various coins and were showing their understanding of money and relating it to their own real-life experiences and how they used money. The children were also sorting the coins and matching them.
“I know about money. That’s 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p, and 1p. My Mummy buys me sweets with money.”
“I’m counting money. I keep it in my pocket and I buy toys in the shop with it.”
“I’d like to buy a parrot with my money. I’ll show you how much it costs. A 10p and a 2p.”
“I can count money.”
