Dragon Dance

The children have been exploring the Chinese New Year resources in the playroom.  Some children watched a team of performers demonstrating a dragon dance on the smartboard.  They then used a dragon costume and joined others in their own unique dragon dance. Others decided to make their own recycled costumes from a box and art resources.

The Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival which begins on Monday 8th February 2016.  Each Chinese New Year is characterised by one of 12 animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac. This year is the Year of the Monkey.
