Problems and perseverance

‘jelly, sugar, jelly, sugar, jelly…look see’

We can think about solving problems while we are working.

The children had great fun building igloos and towers with jelly cubes and sugar cubes, they concentrated for a long time and spent 25 minutes trying to work out how to keep their creations standing up.

Two of the children worked together to solve the problem. One child held the cubes still whilst the other placed them on. He had a good idea to use a jelly cube then  sugar cube then  jelly cube.

‘it’s too wobbly’
