Hello everyone!

We have had such a busy day today!  I know we enjoyed it  but we really need our holiday so we are glad it is here!

We used a fabulous website called Kahoot. This was a super exciting and challenging Maths activity which we did individually on iPads. Below are some pictures. We had a great time and I have even created one for 3.11 so if you wish to use it (which I would advise as it gives you an indication of how your child did) here are the details:

https://getkahoot.com/

Username: Primary311

Password: dog1234

When you log in, go to the top where it says my kahoots. Click on the quiz called 3.11 and press play. The children can either play it on the computer or any tablet/phone. They know more than I do sometimes so they should be able to help you here.

We then made some lovely little pop up cards for Valentine’s Day. We know it is a little early but we hope you like them. Here is a picture.

The picture quality can be quite poor so to get the best version of it, please click on it to enlarge.

I hope you all have a very relaxing break and I look forward to seeing the children again.

Good afternoon,

We have been doing a lot of numeracy and literacy practice in school over the last few days as revision. We are getting better at some of the tricky questions we have been asked and we are using physical materials to help us with this.

We love doing the Daily Mile and I join in with the children during this as I definitely need the exercise! We enjoy doing this as a class and we are also using this time to see how much quicker we are getting. We took some photographs today to document this. Please see below.

We are doing a very exciting Maths activity tomorrow which we cannot wait to document for the blog and show off!

Thank you to everyone who has left comments on the blog. I enjoy writing them and I love reading the positive comments even more! Please do not hesitate to send in notes or stop me after school if you ever have any questions.

Good Afternoon,

Today the children in 3.11 participated in some Scottish dancing. We practiced the Canadian Barn Dance and we had loads of fun! We are really enjoying our Dancing block in P.E. and here are some pictures.

We have also been practising time in Maths. We have some fabulous resources and have been using these to help us. Today, we used our time whiteboards to practice some word problems such as four hours after 3 o’clock and 45 minutes after 1 o’clock. Below are some pictures of us working hard in pairs today. We think we still need some more practice and will continue to do this in school. It would be great if you could also practice this at home to continue to help the children with the learning.

Hello,

Apologies for the lack of blog posts last week but the internet in the school was down for a few days and unfortunately I just could not get on but most of it is up and running now which is good.

Today we were learning about the difference between fiction and non-fictions book. We are excited to read a non-fiction book this week as our weekly reader. The children had superb questions and I saw many delighted faces when I told them this morning that we were going to be looking into non-fiction books.

In Social studies, we looked at how Chinese people celebrate Chinese New Year. We loved the dragons at the parade so much that we made our own.  The children learnt about the traditions of Chinese New Year and the story. Please click on the link below to see a video of the children wishing everyone a happy new year.

We continue to use class dojo for positive behaviour the class and we love it! It seems to be having a lovely impact in the class and out in the playground.

Hello,

In 3.11, we looked into the history of Robert Burns in celebration of his birthday today. Haggis was on offer at lunch time today and I heard it was lovely!

In ICT, we used Top Marks to help consolidate our learning. We focused on money today as we want as much practice as possible as well a fun way of learning. We focused on a toy shop game where we had to give change. It comes in many different levels which is great. This is a great way for the children to have the opportunity to learn about change and also promoting number skills. The children also enjoy using visuals and games to help them in Maths.
