P6.21 have been enjoying creating den-like structures using natural materials found in the woodland area of the school. The class relied on their knowledge of 3D shapes to help construct their structures and were able to evaulate the meta-skills that they were focusing on. The three main meta-skills that were identified by the class were focusing, communication and critical thinking.
P6.21 rounded off their Gastronomers pathway by hosting a Mexican Fiesta! The class worked in groups to research a Mexican state, create decorations and prepare some Mexican cuisine. On menu at the Mexican Fiesta you would have found Fajitas, Tacos, Quesadillas and a tomato and avocado salsa.
The class also requested that their Mexican fiesta involved live music. Well done to Lewis, Ruby and Catherine for performing live on the day!
We worked in teams using rainbow sticks today to revise place value and do a bit of problem solving at the same time by making the largest and smallest numbers we could as well as working out how many different numbers we could make with a given number of sticks.
After that we investigated 2D shapes by making them out of different materials and discussing their properties.
