P6.21 have been working on using contextual clues to help develop their understanding of new words and phrases within a text. Our new class novel The Great Elephant Escape has some fantastic vocabulary that will allow the class to apply the strategies they have been developing.
P6.21 enjoyed reading the Ice Monster by David Walliams. The novel developed characters and setting using a variety of descriptive language and techniques.
The class created interactive book reviews to share their thoughts on the novel.
Primary 6.21 worked together to evaluate the rights of the child while creating their class charter. The task involved a discussion about the rights that they felt had the largest impact on their lives and the rights that they deemed to be the most important to themselves.
P6.21 have been building on their prior knowledge of place value and creating structures using concrete materials. While constructing buildings they had to ensure they calculated the value of each building.
Primary 6.21 have been focusing on developing their understanding of the Meta-skills through outdoor learning. While in the forest they focused on developing collaboration and curiosity when working together and challenging themselves.
