P6.21 have been working on using contextual clues to help develop their understanding of new words and phrases within a text. Our new class novel The Great Elephant Escape has some fantastic vocabulary that will allow the class to apply the strategies they have been developing.

P6.21 enjoyed reading the Ice Monster by David Walliams. The novel developed characters and setting using a variety of descriptive language and techniques.
The class created interactive book reviews to share their thoughts on the novel.

As part of our Mearns Masters pathway, the Campaigners, P6.21 have been researching both the environmental impact and the rights of the workers.
They were tasked with comparing the rights of the workers within the United Kingdom to those of a country of their choice.

The class were then given a scenario based challenged linked to some of the working conditions that the workers in the factories would face.

Some comments from their experience:
Isla: “How do the managers think they can boss people about like that!”
Zach: “There is no way I would want to work in a factory after that!”
Holly: “I didn’t think that was going to be as hard as that to get all the hats the same, I need to work faster!”
