Gross Motor Skills

We have spent time looking at fine motor skills and developing our hand and eye coordination as well as strengthening our hand muscles. Now we are going to look at developing our Gross Motor Skills or big body movements.

Draw out and play a game of hopscotch

See if you can walk along a straight line without wobbling!

Two Little Dickie Birds
Two little dickie birds sitting on a wall,
One named Peter, one named Paul.

Activities
Design and make puppets of the two birds.
Use blocks or Lego to build the wall.
Act out the rhyme.
Go into your garden and see how many different kinds of birds you can spot.

National Smile Month – Week 1

Today marks the start of National Smile Month and every week we are going to look at different themes to celebrate the importance of good dental care!

It is important that you visit your dentist at least once a year to have your mouth, teeth and gums checked.

Activities

Create a smiley mouth with teeth to display in your window.

Make a poster to remind people to visit the dentist.
