Mail a Hug!

Riley has been a busy 🐝 making ‘hugs’ for our very large family.

He has been exploring colours, mixing them together to see what new colours he can make.

This cheered us all up so thought we would share some of our hugs with you. 🥰 xxx

Fabulous Feelings

Being able to let others know how you are feeling is so important so today we are going to explore the world of feelings. We often think about being happy or sad but there are lots of different feelings.

Since being at home Mrs Murray and her family have started a ‘Thank You Jar’.

Each day they write down one thing that they are thankful for from that day and pop it in the jar creating memories and reminding us of how lucky we are.

Today they are thankful for ‘PE with Joe Wicks’ – Mrs Murray and her daughter Abbie have been tuning in every day and have even got dressed up for the part – it made them laugh, smile and get active! 💛

Other Activities

Play some different types of music and dance in a way that shows how it makes you feel.

Create a list of all the emotions you can think of.

Play emotion charades and act out different emotions.

Make emoji puppets and act out your feelings.

Using a balloon and flour make a stress ball (ideal for building up finger strength too!)

Pull together a Comfort Kit – fill a box or basket with little things that make you feel happy so that if you are having a tricky day you have things you enjoy to help you feel better.

Chalk Drawing

Time to take art outside! Today we are going to create chalk drawings on a path or patio in the garden. If you don’t have chalk then water and a brush or a squirty bottle of water can be just as fun!

We explored 2D shapes, created a number line, drew pictures of our favourite garden visitors and drew a picture of a friend then had a shot at writing her name.

So many ideas to explore, what will you create?

Scavenger Hunt

Time to go on a scavenger hunt!

Get a bag or a basket and hunt around the house until you find the following items:

A recipe book

A wooden toy

Something square

Three  different building blocks

Your favourite cuddly toy

Five different coloured pens/pencils

One pair of matching socks

Two spoons

A piece of fruit

Once you have gathered all the items, give your teddy a cuddle while enjoying your piece of fruit then put all the items back where you found them!

Challenge

Now plan a scavenger hunt for your family!

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey Diddle Diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed,
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Activities

Can you spot the rhyming words in this nursery rhyme?

What do you think the word diddle means?

Draw a picture of the cow jumping over the moon.

 Listen to some fiddle music.

Find out some facts about the moon.

Challenge!

Think of as many words as you can that rhyme with cow
