Week beginning 27th June

Our very last week in Mearns Primary was emotional! Lots of tears and lots of laughs too!

On Monday we enjoyed our Leavers’ Service where lots of parents watched us receive a variety of nominations and awards and where we sang our hearts out too!

on Tuesday our teachers organised som activities for us including an ice cream van, tattoos, balloon art and a professional freestyle footballer. Unfortunately they couldn’t tattoo or balloon all of us but we had fun in the gym hall anyway. 😊

Week beginning 20th June

Another busy week as we near the end of our p7 journey.

School prom

We all had an amazing time at our prom, photos of this can be found at our ‘class of 2022’ google classroom.

Week beginning 13th June

Hello and welcome to, or back to, the P7.28 Class Blog! Here, I, Kadi, and Kyle will bring you lots of exciting information about our week!

school show

This week went off with a bang, with the amazing P7 School Show! We had so much fun at the show on Monday night, and I think everyone else did too!

Outdoor learning

We had a fabulous fun outdoor learning session where we played a maths game, where we got into teams, and one at a time, ran and grabbed a rock with a number on it, then were given a target number. With the number rocks, we had to form a calculation that equals to the target number! We had so much fun outdoors, but sadly had to come back inside, as a lot of our classmates’ hay fever was starting to kick in.

Personal projects

This week, we’ve started presenting our personal projects! We’ve all learned so much about a lot of things like football clubs (Liverpool by Kyle, Kilmarnock by Dylan CF, etc) Fashion by Bella, Guinea Pigs by Kadi, Avengers by Sophie, Fungi by Naomi, and so much more! Here are some photos!

Week beginning 30th May

Welcome me to our weekly blog. This week it’s Kyle reporting. Author visit

On Monday the 30th of May we were very lucky that an author by the name of A.F Steadman came to visit our school and present her lovely new book, Skandar and the Unicorn Thief. The blurb is , just as Skandar’s dream is about to come true, things start to take a more dangerous turn than he could ever have imagined. A dark and twisted enemy has stolen the Island’s most powerful unicorn – and as the threat grows ever closer, Skandar discovers a secret that could blow apart his world forever. She spoke about the characters, her inspiration and helped us come up with imaginary characters ourselves before creating a special story using these characters which she read for us.

Show preparations

We have been building stars and painting posters about Mamma Mia and The Muppets Show. We have also been designing and making navigations for our school dance. The class has been full of glitter and paint and stampers and…well, it’s been a bit of a mess but we always manage to tidy it up again at the end of the day.

P4.13 Garden tour

The primary 4s have transformed the Eco Garden into the terrific Tranquility Garden. They have split the magnificent garden into 2, one the flower side and the other the fruit and veggie side! Did you know that daffodils come in different colours.

Pansies also come in different colours.

My personal favourite was the baby apple tree! Here are some photos of the vibrant and beautiful place they have created. Thank you to Miss Trouten and 4.13 for your incredible dedication and hard work.
