Week beginning 19th April

After a superb Spring break we are back refreshed and ready to learn and enjoy our last term in Mearns Primary before starting our next chapter in first year at secondary school.

Hello and welcome back to P7.28’s weekly blog. We hope you had a lovely Easter holiday, this week Noor and Sophie bring you some of the highlights of this week !

The weather this week was amazing, so we spent a lot of time outside. While we were outside we did some learning about rounding decimal numbers and Orienteering. We got into groups and had wrote down some random 4 digit decimal numbers. After writing down the numbers we spreaded them across the grass and then took turns choosing 1 and matched it up to the nearest decimal place. Here are some photos!

Week beginning 28th March

Hello welcome to P7.28 and our weekly blog. This week Suhanna and Emma bring to you some of the highlights of the week.

We had a visit from Alison from the chaplaincy team who recapped some of the stories of Jesus leading up to Easter and got us thinking about how some activities are better and indeed easier in person rather than online or from a distance. Isabella and Sarthak acted as her assistants to help show this…..unfortunately we didn’t have any charge in the iPad to capture them in action though.

Here we are tackling one of our literacy tasks this week. We have some thinking involved in this activity… have a look and see if you can figure it out!?

Our teacher Mrs. Kelly gave us 1 cup for each table full of random pieces of paper, or so we thought! We had to figure out what those pieces of paper were to figure out our lesson. We joined a few papers together and figured it was Prefixes and Suffixes GENIUS FUN and LITERACY!

Another piece of learning this week involved some creative and fun art pictures to produce. Let’s take a quick look!

Mrs Kelly was fairly obsessed with keeping the pencils organised….she was also impressed at how well we did with putting them all back so well right enough!

We all made colourful, Creative birds and some of us even made our own imaginary birds with different colours than normal. We were tasked to create our own background, anything we liked, for example tropical or forest something like that. The best thing about this particular art work was that we used these special pencils called paint pencils. We first sketched our picture and our backgrounds and then we used a few selections of paint brushes with water and it turned into paint. But the best part of the art lesson was how everyone used their Creativity and imagination!
