Maths Week

Dome Building

This week we have been building domes using straws and tape. We had to follow picture instructions and pay attention to detail. 1 group managed to complete their dome, while the others are almost finished. We spoke about the importance of triangles in building strong structures.

Job advertising

We have been doing lots of maths due to maths week. We have been looking at jobs relating to maths, and researched our job of choice. We then made a job advertisement and began creating a poster with information on our chosen jobs!

Visit from Morgan Stanley

We have had a special visit from John and Carla who work for Morgan Stanley. There were talking to us about cyber security. By showing us how to recover a file if even if you deleted it and how hackers hack files. There are coming back on Monday the 4th of October to teach us in robotics and we are looking forward to it.

Ian Stewart

As it is maths week we have been given mathematician, Ian Stewart to research. We have learned about the golden angle( 137.5 Degrees) and where we find it in nature. We watched a video of Ian Stewart about the golden angle and found out that the seeds grow one after the other at an angle of 137.5 degrees. We also learnt about Fibonacci spirals and attempted to draw them.
