We have been learning to recognise right angles. Using our angle eaters, we went on a right angle hunt in the school playground. We were amazed at all the right angles we found.

We have been very creative, making use of classroom objects to make these amazing symmetrical pictures.
As part of our Romans topic we have been learning about how Rome began. As we listened to the story of Romulus and Remus, we had a go at recreating some of the characters we learnt about. Working in partners, we developed our drama skills by thinking about what shapes we could make with our bodies and what expressions we could make with our faces to help act out the story.
This is the evil uncle who wanted Romulus and Remus dead.
This is the wolf who looked after the twin boys.
This was Romulus and Remus after they defeated their evil uncle.
Today we were learning about Venn Diagrams. We worked as a group to create our own diagrams. We chose the titles and sorted 2D and 3D shapes into the right spaces.
Here are some examples:
Can you think of a 2D shape that could go in the empty space?
Can you think of a 3D shape that could go in the empty space?

In numeracy we have been working with money. Working in different groups and playing Mathopoly we have been working on strategies to help us count money and calculate change.
3.11 had a great time visiting Specsavers at the Avenue and learning all about how Opticians help us find the glasses we need. Here are some of our highlights.
We learnt that some lenses make things look bigger and some make things look smaller
We got to hold a contact lens to see how flexible it was but also how quickly it dries out.
We also had lots of fun trying on some different styles of frames.
In science we have been learning about how magnets use an invisible force to push and pull. We carried out an experiment to see which materials were magnetic and which were not. We made magnet trains to show how the north and south poles of a magnet pull together.
In ICT this week we learnt how to find a reliable website. We were looking for fun facts about magnets to help us find out even more about our science topic.
