The Tortoise

We had great fun re-enacting the tortoise formation with our Roman shields. The Romans would use this formation when approaching a fort because it protected them from the arrows of their enemies. We worked well as a team to march in time and keep our shields protecting the whole group.

Stem Visitors

Today we enjoyed some very interesting visits from two people who told us about how STEM is related to their jobs.

Kyle from the RNLI talked about keeping safe when we are on the coast and how he has helped to rescue many animals and people.

Our Dams to Darnley Ranger explained how he helps animals and plants to thrive in the country park by making sure they have the habitats that they need.

Exploring Roman Artefacts

We were given a box of Roman Artefacts from Glasgow Museums Resource Centre. We we had great fun using our talking and listening skills to work out what the different artefacts might have been used for.

“I think this is made of clay.”

I can count the rows and columns and multiply the number to find the number of squares.

These coins are all different shapes and sizes

I think they might have kept water or some kind of liquid in this.

Maybe they kept soap in here because it is very small.
