Jesus Calls the First Disciples<\/span><\/h3>\n

35\u00a0<\/sup>The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples,<\/span>\u00a036\u00a0<\/sup>and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, \u201cBehold,\u00a0the Lamb of God!\u201d<\/span>\u00a037\u00a0<\/sup>The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.<\/span>\u00a038\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them,\u00a0\u201cWhat are you seeking?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0And they said to him,\u00a0\u201cRabbi\u201d (which means Teacher), \u201cwhere are you staying?\u201d<\/span>\u00a039\u00a0<\/sup>He said to them,\u00a0\u201cCome and you will see.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.[g<\/a>]<\/sup><\/span>\u00a040\u00a0<\/sup>One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus[h<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.<\/span>\u00a041\u00a0<\/sup>He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, \u201cWe have found\u00a0the Messiah\u201d (which means Christ).<\/span>\u00a042\u00a0<\/sup>He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,\u00a0\u201cSo you are Simon the son of\u00a0John? You shall be called\u00a0Cephas\u201d<\/span>\u00a0(which means\u00a0Peter[i<\/a>]<\/sup>).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
