Our Catholic faith is woven into all that we do from starting the school day with prayer to seeking to discover truth, beauty and goodness, the\u00a0finger prints\u00a0of God, in every subject that we study.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We are\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Centred\u00a0on Christ<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. This is not just a phrase that is mounted above the main\u00a0entrance, but\u00a0reflects our desire to witness to our faith in the Lord Jesus by\u00a0living the sacramental life, by\u00a0sharing a life of prayer and by reaching out to others in and\u00a0beyond\u00a0our community. Our Oratory is on the middle floor of the school and so Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is close to us\u00a0in all we do and living our\u00a0consecration to the Immaculate Heart leads us to follow the Lord more faithfully.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our motto is\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Respice\u00a0Finem<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211; Look to the Goal. At Turnbull we\u00a0have the opportunity to\u00a0receive a spiritual and academic formation which prepares us for our short term aims- our exams, further education, careers and vocations but also for our\u00a0ultimate goal\u00a0which is to know love and serve God in this life and be forever happy with him in the next.\u00a0We are a centre of the New Evangelisation which seeks to proclaim and witness to the Good News and walk in the path of discipleship.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0circumstances\u00a0of the last two years\u00a0have\u00a0posed real challenges for so many in our schools, parish and wider communities. We saw the closure of our schools and\u00a0parishes, and\u00a0worked through the tentative attempts to reopen or to reimagine how we could function safely in an ever-changing landscape.\u00a0Celebrating our Faith and Worshipping God have taken on new forms at Turnbull High School. We have responded to the difficulties around assisting at Holy Mass by exploring the richness and variety that is to be found in our Catholic\u00a0devotional\u00a0heritage. Online and in person we have rediscovered the power of the Holy Rosary\u00a0and Novenas, the stillness of Eucharistic Adoration and the richness of\u00a0Letio\u00a0Divina.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the preface to the weekday\u00a0Mass\u00a0we find these beautiful words:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559685&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Father all-powerful and ever-living God,<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we\u00a0do well always\u00a0and everywhere to give thanks.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You have no need of our praise,<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">yet our desire to thank You is itself Your gift.<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our prayer of thanksgiving adds nothing to Your greatness,<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">but makes us grow in Your grace,<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">through Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We see here that there\u00a0is never a wrong time to turn to God in prayer and worship. There is never a wrong time to celebrate his\u00a0unending\u00a0love for us.\u00a0Those words from the\u00a0preface\u00a0remind us that the purpose of celebrating and worshipping is to Adore God and to be Reconciled to him. \u2018Ad Ora\u2019 means to mouth and so to Adore God is to turn to him and be filled with the breath of life as was Adam in the garden.\u00a0Giving thanks and praise is not only right and just but is the\u00a0realisation\u00a0of our destiny as beings made in His Image.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Latin root of \u2018Reconcile\u2019\u00a0comes from the word for eyelash, meaning that by turning away from sin and towards the face of God\u00a0through the sacraments, we are drawn\u00a0into\u00a0the most intimate of relationships with our creator.\u00a0Indeed, in so doing, we strengthen our relationship with God, our loving Father, and with our brothers and sisters in Christ with whom we celebrate- \u2018and to you, my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord Our God\u2019\u00a0We are made to know, to love and to serve\u00a0Him;\u00a0it is here that we find our purpose,\u00a0and we can do that through joining together in celebration and worship.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is why\u00a0the prayer and sacramental life of our school is\u00a0absolutely central\u00a0to who we are and to how we grow as a community.
