{"id":537,"date":"2020-11-27T13:59:59","date_gmt":"2020-11-27T13:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ed\/turnbullre\/?p=537"},"modified":"2020-11-27T13:59:59","modified_gmt":"2020-11-27T13:59:59","slug":"red-wednesday-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ed\/turnbullre\/2020\/11\/27\/red-wednesday-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Wednesday 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In keeping with our longstanding partnership with Aid to the Church in Need, Turnbull High School celebrated Red Wednesday- a day to raise funds and awareness for Christians who are persecuted for their faith.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RedWednesday Scotland Showreel\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yxqH3_Ca98w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Our usual events were not possible this year but pupils made donations and wore red, the colour of martyrs, with their uniform to show solidarity with those who are oppressed, tortured and killed for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Following what has become a Red Wednesday custom across the UK, we lit up our oratory Red.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-542\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ed\/public\/turnbullre\/uploads\/sites\/3796\/2020\/11\/27135439\/PSX_20201124_192520.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"945\" height=\"1260\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our Aid to the Church in Need group led the event and did a great job with advertising.
