How to Successfully Study

Environment – make sure you have a quiet and peaceful place to study.  You should have space and all the resources you need close by.

Time-Management – don’t leave things until the last minute.  You will end up not having enough time and getting stressed.  Make sure you spend enough time on each subject/topic.

Motivation – if you are not motivated then you won’t make the most use of your time.  Remember that you want to do your best and achieve your potential.

Concentration – it is a good idea to turn off any electronic devices which may distract you.  It is a good idea to allow yourself regular breaks where you can check your phone or tablet.

Resources – there are various things that you might like to use to help you revise such  as highlighters, coloured pens/pencils, coloured paper/card, calculator, notes, past papers, databook …the list goes on!  Make sure you have everything you need before you start.

Techniques – it is a good idea to try different activities when you are revising.  Some examples are making flash cards, mindmaps, summaries, quizzes, trying past paper questions or homework questions.

When in doubt, ask – make sure you check with your teacher if you have any questions.
