CREST gives young people aged 3\u201319 the chance to choose their own subject and methodology when completing their hands-on investigation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Student-led<\/strong> &#8211; CREST is a nationally recognised scheme for student-led project work in the STEM subjects (sciences, technologies, engineering and maths).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trusted<\/strong> &#8211; A consistent and high standard of assessment and moderation is achieved for the scheme via our network of industry experts from the STEM and education sectors. It has been running since 1986 and sees tens of thousands of young people taking part each year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Accessible<\/strong> &#8211; CREST provides activities and project ideas for a range of ages, group size and abilities. From off-the-shelf, one-hour long challenges through to large-scale, student-led projects of over 70 hours work or more, CREST can be done by anyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"row sqs-row\">\n<div class=\"col sqs-col-11 span-11\">\n<div id=\"block-yui_3_17_2_1_1628591927432_39355\" class=\"sqs-block code-block sqs-block-code\" data-block-type=\"23\">\n<div class=\"sqs-block-content\">\n<h4 class=\"black\"><strong>\u2753 How to run CREST<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"black\">There are many ways to run CREST with your learners and they have developed the levels to fit the various needs of practitioners and young people. CREST provide comprehensive guides for you and your learners available for download on their resource library, as well activities, project ideas and inspiration to get you started.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"block-yui_3_17_2_1_1628591927432_44111\" class=\"sqs-block code-block sqs-block-code\" data-block-type=\"23\">\n<div class=\"sqs-block-content\">\n<h4 class=\"black\"><strong>\u2b50 Star and SuperStar \ud83c\udf1f<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row sqs-row\">\n<div class=\"col sqs-col-6 span-6\">\n<div id=\"block-yui_3_17_2_1_1628591927432_47535\" class=\"sqs-block code-block sqs-block-code\" data-block-type=\"23\">\n<div class=\"sqs-block-content\">\n<p class=\"black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crestawards.org\/crest-star\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Star<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crestawards.org\/crest-superstar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SuperStar<\/a> levels are designed to be easy-to-run and low-cost for children typically aged 3-7 and 7-11 years. Children gain an Award by completing eight challenges, which are available to download from the <a href=\"https:\/\/primarylibrary.crestawards.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resource library<\/a>. Learners typically aged 10-14 work in small teams to complete the project over five hours and present their work at the end of the day.
