Developing language skills and their knowledge of the world around them. Developing early writing skills Adding detail to drawings
This week the children have been learning about Robert Burns and all things Scottish. They created thistles in the Art Area, designed and used real tools to make little haggis and of course tasted delicious Scottish foods.
Provocations – Literacy in action
This week in the story/literacy area the children are developing their knowledge of letters and sounds by identifying what some familiar words begin with.
The children were talking about the snow outside and used different techniques to create their own snow day images.
Learning for Sustainability – The children have planted seeds and will tend to them as they grow. These will then be harvested in the Spring time.
Lots of woodwork design and creativity.

The children really enjoyed learning about spiders in the Art & Crafts Area. This provided breadth and depth of learning as they were singing the rhyme, researching interesting facts and creating their own amazing spiders in their webs.
