Rights Respecting School

Willowbank is a Rights Respecting School.  Unicef recently awared us with Recognition of Commitment.  This award recognises that the school is committed to teaching children and young people about the universal rights to which they are entitled as well as ensuring that all staff, volunteers and visitors to the school work to ensure that the Rights of the Child are at the centre of everything that we do.

Rights are talked about in classes and the pupils were recently involved in a competition set by the Pupil Council, where they were challenged to create a poster to display how they exercise their rights in school.

We also use the Seven Golden Rules for Participation as a vehicle to promote and learn about Children’s Rights.  Click here for further information.
