{"id":522,"date":"2018-11-28T12:09:19","date_gmt":"2018-11-28T12:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/whatriggsps\/?page_id=522"},"modified":"2022-02-15T19:07:08","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T19:07:08","slug":"helping-hands-group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/whatriggsps\/helping-hands-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Inclusive Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>What is Inclusive Practice &#8211; Dyslexia Friendly Schools?<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Inclusive Practice is an East Ayrshire initiative using dyslexia friendly\/inclusive approaches to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foster inclusive learning environments.<\/li>\n<li>Empower teachers to meet the needs of all learners.<\/li>\n<li>Promote early identification of learners at risk of ASN and ensure appropriate intervention strategies suited to meet individual\u2019s needs are put in place.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a whole school responsibility for supporting learners with additional support needs (ASN).<\/li>\n<li>Provide professional learning opportunities for staff and a platform for networking as well as sharing and celebrating good practice.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage Resilience in learners.<\/li>\n<li>Promote positive and effective Parent\/Carer partnership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does Inclusive Practice involve?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since 2013, educational establishments within East Ayrshire have begun their journey towards becoming a dyslexia friendly school through the use of inclusive practice.
