November Woodlands Trips

The ECC children have been exploring how to look after our woodlands area this month. On previous visits to the woods the children had noticed that there was a lot of litter on the ground and we discussed how the litter was not safe for local wildlife. They picked up the rubbish with litter pickers and, when it was safe to do so, with their hands. We brought the bags back to the bins at the centre and disposed of them correctly.  The area looked much better after their hard work!

This month we also had our first Ghillie Kettle session where the children experienced a real campfire. They learned how to keep safe around the fire and demonstrated their good listening skills when following instructions on how to toast their marshmallows. These sessions will happen throughout the year for all pre-school children to take part in. Please click on the link below to see our yummy marshmallows!
