For Under 3s, we use <\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Realising The Ambition \u00a0<\/a>Being me which is a national practice guidance to support staff. This document focuses on wellbeing, movement & coordination and creativity & curiosit<\/span>y which are the areas used within our planning for the room.<\/p>\n

Our environment is offered to promote independence, confidence and good self-esteem.\u00a0 Principles we use in the playroom are based on the theory that children learn best from experiences that they plan and carry out by themselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a Curriculum?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Whatriggs ECC, the curriculum is everything that we do with your child that involves <\/span>teaching, learning, and assessment.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Curriculum for Excellen<\/span>ce is for all children <\/span>3- 18 which means it will continue through Early Years, Prim<\/span>ary and Secondary School for your child. The Curriculum is undergoing some changes and we will update you with anything relevant as this happens.<\/p>\n

The Aims of Curriculum for Excellence are that every child and young person should know they are valued and will be supported to become a <\/span>successful learner<\/span><\/b>, an <\/span>effective contributor<\/span><\/b>, a <\/span>confident individual<\/span><\/b> and a <\/span>responsible citizen<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will communicate regular updates on how we feel your child is progressing and discuss the new learning targets for your child.\u00a0 \u00a0These will be available on your child’s learning journal<\/span>s.<\/p>\n
