Let’s make a butterfly feeder!

Spring is here!A variety of different butterflies visit our gardens looking for food, places to breed, or spots to overwinter as adults, larvae or pupae. Each garden will attract a different set of butterflies depending on the plants, trees and shrubs present, and what the surrounding habitats are like.

I wonder if we can attract more butteflies with our butterfly feeders!

Let’s make a mindfulness jar!

The mindfulness jar is a very good tool that can help us to express our feelings. The glitter in the jar represents our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. When we feel upset or angry, we can shake the jar and watch the glitter move around before gradually settling. As the glitter settles to the bottom of jar, we can relate that to our mind settling too. The cultivation of stillness after the swirling and chaos subside is quite effective.

These jars can also be used as a visual timer for short mindful breathing exercises. Many people prefer to take a few breaks during the day to gather themselves and depart from their everyday tasks.Using a mindfulness jar to time these shorts breaks is a great way to allow yourself to focus on the break and relax.

Have a lovely mindful day!!

April fools’ day challenge!

In france, kids make paper fish and on April 1st try to stick them on someone’s back without them noticing!

Are you ready to make a paper fish and stick it to someone’s back withou them noticing?

Watch the video below to learn how to draw a fish step by step!

Let’s play Pong Hau K’i!

Pong Hau K’i is a traditional Chinese game which is simple enough for kids, and even preschoolers. It is known as Ou-moul-ko-no in Korea.

What you need: A pen or pencil (any colour), a piece of paper, a ruler and 4 bottle lids or tokens.

What you do before you play:  First of all, you have to make the board. Take a piece of paper and then get your pen and the ruler to make a big x in the middle of your paper. Add three sides on your x. Your board should be looking like this:

How to play:

Each player has two tokens. Players take turns to move. At each turn, the player moves one of their two pieces into the next available vertex (corner). If a player can’t move, they lose. If both players play perfectly, the game continues endlessly with no winner.

Salt painting

I love this idea!! The only materials you need are salt, PVA glue and watercolour paint.

The video says that you need cardboard, but I think a plain piece of paper will be fine. If you use a plain piece of paper try not to wet it too much with the paint! 🙂 🙂

Have fun and keep safe!
