Happy new year!🎉

Hello! 🌊

Welcome back to the P7 blog,

We hope that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year.🎄

For P7, the year has been off to a busy start.  Lots to look forward to including our annual Burns event coming up.

P7 selected a new poem for the Burns event named “Embdy Lost a Jaicket?” Although we were in two minds whether to pick this or the classic “Sergeant Snoddy”.

We have been focusing on our Scottish culture and have been looking into the Scots language. An example of this was when we read “The Three Wise Men fae the East” from the Scottish gospel as our RE task.

We have also been researching Robert Burns, his poems and famous songs. In particular we have been focusing on our Robert Burns presentations and information reports.

As part of our Robert Burns research we have been painting his childhood home, ‘The Burns Cottage’.  This was a challenging lesson as we were exploring perspective line drawings.

In Numeracy this week P7 have been focusing on angles. We have mostly been working on acute angles( less than 90 °) obtuse (between 90 ° and 180 °), right (90 °) ,reflex angles (between 180 ° and 360 °) and straight angles (180 °).

We were also drawing angles and calculating missing angles.

In PE we have been focusing on ball games and competitive basketball skills.

That’s all for this week!😎

We will continue to type in the blog every few weeks to keep you updated.

Thank you from Primary 7.
