{"id":101,"date":"2018-01-15T12:43:46","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T12:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/stpatrickpsmian2018\/?page_id=101"},"modified":"2018-01-15T13:31:20","modified_gmt":"2018-01-15T13:31:20","slug":"expressive-arts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/stpatrickpsmian2018\/curriculum\/expressive-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"Expressive Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"centreCol\">\n<div id=\"ctl00_phContent_divContent\">\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Expressive Arts<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Drama<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All classes in the school use Drama Packs, supported by Topics and Drama activities from other areas of the curriculum to enhance the children\u2019s skills.\u00a0\u00a0 The school has a dedicated Drama and Music Room which is very well resourced.\u00a0\u00a0 Pupils are given opportunities to participate in drama events both in school and in the community.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Art and design<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Art and Design permeates the whole curriculum but skills are taught independently to ensure that visual elements, techniques and attainment are addressed.\u00a0 We use Borders, Fife and Prim Ed material as a guide for the development of Art programmes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Dance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The school uses the Border\u2019s Physical Education pack. This covers the areas of, Social Dance and Creative Dance. It is supplemented with other resources form Primrose Education and supported by specialist staff particularly East Ayrshire Dance Motivators.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Music<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The school has a wide variety of resources to support the teaching of music. The main resources used are Silver Burdett, Borders Music and the new resource of ABC Music.
