St Joseph’s Education Group

St Joseph’s Education Group

St Patrick’s is one of five primary schools within the St Joseph’s Education Group. The principal purpose of the education group is to ensure that services are better co-ordinated in order to meet the needs of young people and raise attainment.  Learning Communities support the government’s approach to GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child).  This means that if a child/young person needs support then, where possible, there will be one co-ordinated assessment and one plan for that child/young person. One of the benefits of this Group is that we have the support of colleagues from various agencies who can support our children e.g. Health, Social Services, Community Services etc.

Although most of our pupils transfer to St Joseph’s Academy at the end of their primary education, those who live in Drongan and Coylton access secondary education at Queen Margaret Academy, Ayr.
