Dear Young People and Parents of Stewarton Academy,<\/p>\n
The Institute of Physics Scotland are delighted to announce a new initiative at Stewarton Academy, one designed to bring cutting edge science to the community.\u00a0 \u201cScience @ Stewarton\u201d is a series of three evening events giving young people and their families a chance to learn about recent developments in science.\u00a0 There will be presentations and a chance to ask questions of experts in different fields.<\/p>\n
The events will run 1830-2000 on Tuesday 24th<\/sup>\u00a0January, Thursday 23rd<\/sup>\u00a0February and Thursday 30th<\/sup>\u00a0March at the Academy.<\/p>\n Our first event will be delivered by Dr Karl Toland from the University of Glasgow, and is entitled \u201cHow colliding black holes can help us predict volcanic eruptions\u201d \u2013 this will show how the latest developments in literally astronomical studies can be of great benefit down here on Earth!\u00a0 More details can be found on the attachment that accompanies this message.<\/p>\n Please see the attached flyer below for more information.<\/p>\n Science @ Stewarton<\/a><\/p>\n We look forward to seeing you there!<\/p>\n Best wishes,<\/p>\n Dr Peter H.
