Dear Parent\/Carer<\/p>\n

We have been informed that Scottish Water are closing the A735 at Brackenburn Bridge (between Kilmaurs and Stewarton) from Monday, 9th September for a period of\u00a0three weeks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Shuttle Buses has advised that this will be an issue for the operation of two of our school bus contracts from Kilmaurs to Stewarton, which will be addressed through the following measures:<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he two\u00a0buses running from\u00a0Kilmaurs to Stewarton will have to operate through Sunnyside (current pick-up) then Main Street (McColl’s bus stop) and Irvine Road (bus stop at Vine Park Drive). <\/span>All pupils currently picked up at\u00a0Townhead\u00a0will\u00a0have to walk down the hill to any of these stops to get on the school bus.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

The journey to Stewarton will be slightly longer as it will divert via Cunninghamhead. As a result,\u00a0the pick up times for pupils\u00a0in the morning will be 10 minutes earlier than the current times<\/strong>, which will also aim to alleviate expected congestion at Kilmaurs PS.<\/span><\/p>\n

East Ayrshire council has agreed to this proposal. Parents of pupils affected will also receive a text message with a link to this information. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school office or your child’s pastoral support teacher should you have any individual concerns or issues in relation to this temporary disruption in service.<\/span><\/p>\n
